Situation Update

Safer at Home in Tulsa
Mayor G.T Bynum has issued a Safer at Home Order for all Tulsans, regardless of age. Additionally, it prohibits all public events, private events and social gatherings. Mayor Bynum has extended his order through April 30.
Tulsa Police are enforcing the Safer at Home Order. If you believe a business or organization is violating the Order, call the Tulsa Police non-emergency number at (918) 596-9222. Citations have been issued for those not following the Safer at Home order. TPD is not being dispatched to individuals not following physical distancing by 6 feet at essential businesses, such as gas stations, but, essential businesses have been putting safety measures in place.
As a community, we all have a role in following CDC guidelines to keep our community safe by following physical distancing and following basic hygiene tips. The best thing we can all do collectively is stay at home during this threat.
Temporary Homeless Shelter Funding
Today, the City will be working to secure funding to operate a temporary homeless shelter at the former Juvenile Justice Detention Center in partnership with Tulsa County. This will help provide adequate space to follow physical distancing practices. Tulsa shelters are at maximum capacity as they follow physical distancing practices.
Local Business Resources
The City and TEDC announced today the creation of the Resilience and Recovery Fund, which will provide zero interest loans to small businesses. For more information on the fund and to find additional resources businesses can use, visit www.cityoftulsa.org/COVID-19.
Federal CARES Act
The Tulsa Regional Chamber has numerous resources available to help small businesses with less than 500 employees understand and take advantage of the $2 trillion federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), including the $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program, which authorizes loans with a 4 percent interest rate that are 100 percent guaranteed by the Small Business Administration (SBA). Business owners should prepare to apply as quickly as possible.
Tenant Rights Webinar April 3
A Way Home For Tulsa, Tulsa’s continuum of care, will host a free webinar on tenant rights during the COVID-19 pandemic on April 3 at 9:30 a.m. Topics will include the eviction moratorium in Oklahoma, tenants’ legal rights (including a right to a habitable rental property), and the federal action being taken to prevent evictions. The webinar will be co-facilitated by the City of Tulsa, THD, Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and Homebase.

Tulsa County Update
The Tulsa County Election Board has received all resolutions to reschedule the April 7 election. School board elections will be moved to June 30. Three bond issues on the April 7 ballot will be rescheduled at a later date that is still to-be-determined. LaFortune Park Golf Course is closed until further notice. Additionally, as of Monday at 8 p.m., South Lakes Golf Course in Jenks is also closed.
THD Accepting PPE Donations
Corporate, industrial or medical partners looking to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should email [email protected]. Currently, THD is unable to accept private household donations. Items collected will be given to the Regional Medical Response System.
