Today, the City of Tulsa announced the launch of its ARPA Community Needs Survey, a survey meant to assess the pandemic recovery needs of Tulsans. This survey will inform project proposals submitted by nonprofit organizations for up to $7 million of the City’s $87.8 million ARPA allotment.
Following the first $6.5 million round of nonprofit funding, which was awarded to 70 local nonprofits, citizens have the opportunity to provide their feedback on the community’s priorities for this second round of funding.
Tulsans can complete the online survey at www.cityoftulsa.org/ARPA. Citizens may also email [email protected] or call (918) 596-2626 and leave their name, contact information, and project ideas or additional comments.
Projects must be allowable under guidance provided by the US Department of Treasury. In general, projects must be focused on public health, COVID-19 mitigation efforts, medical expenses, behavioral healthcare, and certain public health and safety staff.
Other project ideas can include addressing negative economic impacts, economic harm to workers and households, and providing for communities and families by addressing health disparities and the social determinants of health.
Additionally, projects may also be geared toward investing in housing and neighborhoods, addressing educational disparities, and promoting healthy childhood environments.
The deadline to complete the questionnaire or offer feedback for consideration is August 10, 2022. Project proposals will not be collected until later in the fall to allow for a transition between the survey and the project explanation.
