The City of Tulsa is hosting its City Hall on the Go (CHOTG) pilot program on Wednesday, November 9, at Tulsa Fire Station 17, 1351 N. Sheridan Rd.
Staff and services will be available from 8 – 10 a.m. and 3 – 5 p.m.
CHOTG, which is a national model implemented in many cities that brings city hall services into various underserved neighborhoods, is being piloted by the City of Tulsa to increase civic engagement and better serve the needs of residents.
“Having the ability to provide Tulsans better access to City services is a win-win for the City, and I’m excited we’ve been able to launch this program,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “As we launch this pilot, I’m eager to see how it turns out and hear what residents would like to see most when we visit their neighborhood.”
As part of the City's Resilience strategy, part of which aims to transform city and regional systems, CHOTG aims to empower a broad range of stakeholders while promoting civic and engaged communities.
On Wednesday, the Tulsa Fire Department and the City’s Human Resources, Mayor’s Office of Resilience & Equity (MORE), and Customer Care (311) departments will be in attendance to help residents apply for jobs with the City, learn how to file human rights complaints, register with 311 for easy reporting, and learn about fire safety.
During the pilot, the City will collect surveys on what people would like to see at a future CHOTG.
