Early this morning, street crews worked to treat the roadways, elevated surfaces and slick spots with salt. Night shift personnel reported this afternoon and much of the work this evening and overnight will be brine (salt/water mix) application to the roads as needed.

Brine street crews will be on standby through Sunday.

Warming Stations and Cold Safety

In addition to the three warming stations listed online (link below), the Tulsa Day Center is also acting as a warming station at this time. Currently, there is enough space available in the Tulsa metro for anyone who needs safe and warm shelter. If you know of individuals who may need assistance finding somewhere warm to ride out this event, visit https://www.housingsolutionstulsa.org/assistance-request/, put in their information, and an outreach team will make contact.

More safety and winter weather response information can be found online.

City Service Updates
Bulky waste pickup is delayed until tomorrow. On Friday, Thursday bulky waste collections and half of Friday bulky waste collections will be picked up. And on Monday, the rest of Friday bulky waste collections and all of Monday bulky waste collections will be picked up.

Refuse and recycling crews ceased operations mid-day today due to the weather. The haulers will make every attempt to catch up as soon as weather permits. During this time, we are asking for patience as the safety of these employees is of the utmost importance. The pickup schedules remain the same this week as any other week due to the holiday falling on a weekend, so if your refuse or recycling is missed, leave it on the curb and it will be picked up as soon as possible.

Refuse and recycling customers with any additional refuse or recycling can place it at the curb for collections. If you’re putting out additional refuse, please bag the contents and place them near the refuse cart. If you’re putting out additional recycling, please place additional recyclables in a recyclable container, such as a cardboard box, near the recycling cart and it will be collected.

All Municipal Court hearings scheduled for December 22, 2022, are being moved to January 10, 2023, for anyone unable to get to the courthouse safely.

As a reminder, City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday.

Despite these closures, public safety and mission critical operations, including snow and ice response operations, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer emergency may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 596-6999.
