Keri Fothergill to Join Mayor Bynum’s Office as Chief Administrative Officer

Mayor G.T. Bynum has named Keri Fothergill as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Tulsa effective July 25. Fothergill will serve in Mayor’s Bynum’s cabinet and manage the Customer Care, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal Courts and Working in Neighborhoods departments.

Fothergill most recently served as the Chief Deputy Tulsa County Commissioner from May 2020 to present, where she was charged with all the duties of Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith, while working on projects and programs for Tulsa County.

“I am excited to have Keri Fothergill join our team at the City of Tulsa as Chief Administrative Officer. Keri brings tremendous institutional knowledge after working at the City through five mayoral administrations and spending the last several years as deputy to a great public servant at Tulsa County, Commissioner Karen Keith,” Mayor Bynum said. “I have long appreciated Keri’s strong focus on customer service, and I am grateful for her help in leading the best team of public servants in any city in America.”

With nearly 20 years of experience in various levels of Tulsa government, Fothergill has worked directly with many City of Tulsa mayoral administrations, including: Mayor Savage, Mayor LaFortune, Mayor Bartlett and Mayor Bynum. Fothergill also worked for the Tulsa City Council from 2004-2008 as a legislative aide during Mayor Taylor’s term.

Fothergill has a wide range of experience by facilitating and managing government programs. Prior to working for Tulsa County, Fothergill worked in the City’s Streets and Stormwater Department and then worked with the City’s Development Services Department. During her work in Development Services, Keri provided process oversight for businesses and land development and managed special development projects for Mayor Bynum’s Office. During her career, Fothergill also took a small hiatus from Tulsa government and worked for Williams & Williams Auction from 2008-2012 serving as a commercial project manager and government liaison due to her extensive knowledge in city government.  

Fothergill has a passion for serving the residents of Tulsa with a customer service focus and is excited to return to the City.

“I'm going to miss all of my friends and colleagues at the County, but I couldn't be more excited for this new opportunity with Mayor Bynum’s Office,” Fothergill said. “I'm looking forward to returning to the City of Tulsa and can't wait to hit the ground running with this amazing team and give my all to this wonderful organization and Tulsa residents.”

Fothergill holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa in Liberal Studies with a focus in Administrative Leadership and Conflict Resolution and has volunteered and served on various boards during her career, including Child Abuse Network, the former Tulsa Crime Commission and Tulsa Global Alliance. Fothergill also holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma and i2i Agile Marketing.
