Due to the anticipated winter weather, work will pause on the removal of light poles from the 21st Street bridge. All traffic control will be removed Tuesday evening (Feb. 1) and will not be reinstalled until next week.

On Monday morning, Feb. 7, at 9 a.m., traffic control will be set up to close the loop ramp from 21st Street to Riverside Drive. The loop will be closed through Tuesday, Feb. 8. Also on Monday and Tuesday, traffic on 21st Street will be limited to one westbound lane starting at Boulder Avenue and extending westward to Jackson Avenue.

On Wednesday morning, Feb. 9, at 9 a.m. the eastbound outside lane and sidewalk will be closed from Jackson Avenue to Boulder Avenue. This will reduce eastbound traffic to one lane from Wednesday morning until Friday evening. The traffic control will be removed on Friday evening, Feb. 11.

These old, deteriorating light poles are being removed as a safety measure for traffic crossing the 21st Street bridge over the Arkansas River.
