Repair of Traffic Signal at East 71st Street, South 85th East Avenue Scheduled to Begin June 10

Beginning on June 10, the traffic signal at East 71^st Street and South 85^th East Avenue will be out of service for repair. The work is estimated to take about a week.

During the repair, the signal heads will be covered so traffic on 71^st Street will not stop at this intersection. A stop sign will be placed on 85^th East Avenue approaching 71^st Street, and signs will be added so all northbound traffic will only be able to make a right turn onto 71^st Street. Westbound traffic on 71^st Street will still be able to turn left onto 85^th East Avenue, but there will not be a protected left-turn arrow since the signal will be off.
