Kevin Chambers, Tulsa representative of the U.S. Commercial Service, said at $22.9 billion, Caribbean imports from the U.S. are similar in size to India and Australia.
“The Caribbean’s close proximity to the U.S., and its regional integration, contributes to its importance as a key part of an Oklahoma company’s international strategy,” Chambers said. “The Caribbean is an especially good market for products such as cosmetics, medical supplies, infrastructure projects and services.”
Exporters will learn about specific tender opportunities in the Telecom, medical, aviation, energy and construction industries. Subject matter experts will provide information on U.S. Government assistance to bidders and market information. Andrew Billard, deputy regional senior commercial officer for the Caribbean at the U.S. Embassy, Santo Domingo, will lead the seminar focusing on where to find markets and tender opportunities, how to qualify to receive bid documents, bid strategies and how to leverage U.S. Government advocacy in support of the U.S. bidder or the U.S. bid.
