August 10, 2018 - Street rehabilitation on South Lewis Avenue has moved south this week to the intersection of South Lewis Avenue and East 15th Street. Traffic is limited to one lane in each direction, and “No Left Turn” signs have been posted on all legs of the intersection.
Completion of construction at 15th and Lewis is scheduled for the end of October. Work will then move south to between 15th and 21st streets. This construction is part of a street rehabilitation project on South Lewis Avenue between East 11th Street and East 21st Street, scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
The project includes new waterline, repaving, replacing some sidewalks, and rebuilding the 15th Street intersection with concrete. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Tri-Star Construction for this $4,777,787 project funded by the 2008 Third Penny Sales Tax (Fix Our Streets).
